Scheme Builder
Websure's Scheme Builder is unique in allowing users to configure their own insurance products without the need for programming skills. All the parameters needed to define the rating tables, discount structure and policy sections are stored in tables and can be changed by the scheme administrator whenever necessary.
Scheme Builder allows the user to specify:
- Unlimited policy sections (e.g. Contents, Buildings, All Risks etc)
- Up to 50 rating factors (e.g. age of insured, vehicle group etc)
- Multiple discount and/or loading (e.g. No-Claims Bonus etc)
- Unlimited insured items per policy (e.g. vehicles, insured persons etc)
- Sums insured either per item or for list of specified “sub-items”
- User-defined fields can be added per scheme.
- Rates or premiums for each combination of rating factors.
- Minimum and Maximum sums insured
- Minimum premiums
- Banded Rates
- Commissions and fees for multiple intermediaries
Advanced features can be handled using “auto derives”. These use a scripting language to handle complex underwriting rules and are typically used to automate:
- Referral rules
- Automatic clause addition and deletion

Documents and Correspondence
Microsoft Word integration allows users to easily create the majority of standard letters and policy documentation.
In addition, Websure incorporates the award winning reporting tool “Report Builder” from Digital Metaphors. This provides a more powerful and flexible means of producing reports and policy documentation. It is typically used for documents such as schedules. Both types of report can be customised easily by the user.
A typical scheme would include the following policy documentation:

Report Builder reports can be output either to a printer or saved as a file in a variety of formats including Excel, PDF, HTML and Rich Text.
Document Management
Websure incorporates a powerful and very comprehensive document management system.
A copy of each policy document produced by Websure is automatically filed against the policy, claim etc. and can be reprinted at any time. In addition, documents created in Word, Excel (or for that matter any file) can be stored in the system attached to a particular policy. The documents are stored within the SQL Server database and are therefore replicated to all servers. Proposal forms, valuations and surveys can be scanned if required and stored against the policy.
Where a document needs to be modified, the system will automatically store all previous versions.
Microsoft Office Integration
Websure is closely integrated with Microsoft Word and Outlook. Template letters and insurance documents can be created easily by the user incorporating data from the policy, account or claim and mail-shots can be issued by letter or by email.
With just a few clicks, the user can send emails to policyholders, agents, insurers etc. and these are automatically stored in the Websure document management system against the appropriate policy, claim, account etc.
Emails received can be copied from Outlook into Websure's document management system where they will be automatically replicated to all offices.
Management Reporting
In addition to a comprehensive range of standard bordereaux and management reports, Websure allows you to create your own custom reports using a variety of reporting tools including:
- Reportbuilder (our built-in report designer)
- External MI tools such as Business Objects and Crystal Reports
- Microsoft Reporting Services
- Microsoft Excel Integration
A flexible “Report Views” feature allows you to create custom queries to retrieve a particular set of data for analysis using Excel and these queries can be saved for future use.
Claims Administration
Websure includes comprehensive claims recording and processing with integration to accounts for settlement issue and underwriter collection. Reports include standard settled and outstanding claims bordereaux, loss ratio reports and earned-to-incurred statistics.
Binding Authority Administration
Websure provides the controls needed to ensure that binding authorities are handled according to underwriting rules. Transactions are automatically assigned to the appropriate binder and year of account with appropriate commission levels. Scheme rules can be set up to ensure that rates and sums insured are within underwriting limits.
Premium and claims bordereaux can be printed for any period and can be customised to meet individual insurer requirements.
Insurers can monitor the activity of cover-holders without having to wait for month-end bordereaux, greatly reducing the risks associated with delegated underwriting authority. This can be particularly useful where the cover holder is overseas and would otherwise be difficult to monitor.
A live statistics screen shows the current performance of each binder including loss ratios on a month by month basis for each year of account.
Accounting
Websure includes a comprehensive multi-currency double-entry ledger with all the features needed for IBA accounting and also for recording general office expenses, assets and liabilities.
The system allows you to post to past and future periods (within limits that you decide) and all reports provide a snapshot of the accounting situation as-at a specified date, allowing month-end reports to be produced at any time without being affected by later transactions.
